SATURDay 1 - Arrival to Svendborg, a provincial town on Southern Funen. Spend the afternoon sailing the veteran ship "Helge" or enjoying the busy shopping zone just out side the hotel door. The night is spent at a centrally located city hotel in Svendborg. Hotel Svendborg or similar. SUNDay 2 - 45 km/28 miles. Along the coast of the Great Belt to Nyborg. The route passes the quaint fishing hamlet Lundeborg and several manor houses. The hotel is located on the beach in the outskirts of Nyborg. Overnight at Hotel Nyborg Strand or similar. MONDay 3 - 34 km/21 miles. In Nyborg a train will take care of transport across the Great Belt Bridge. Unfortunately you are not allowed to bike on the 19 Km/12 mile long bridge. On the island Sealand the route will take you along the coast and beaches to the country town of Skælskør and further on to the medieval city centre of Næstved. Overnight at Hotel Kirstine or similar. WEDNESDay 4 - 45 km/28 miles. The day starts with a train ride to Vordingborg. Continue by bike through the rolling countryside to the island Møn. The hotel for two nights is located in the country, just outside the main town Stege. Overnight at Hotel Praestekilde or similar for 2 nights. THURSDay 5 - 0/40 km 0/25 miles. A day off to explore this delightful island. We suggest a day excursion to the famous cliffs Møns Klint or merely take a short ride through some of the nearby villages with their thatched roofed houses. FRIDay 6 - 56 km/35 miles. A lovely day of bicycling! First across the embankment to the island of Bogø. Catch the picturesque little ferry to the island of Falster. The route will take you on a wonderful ride to the country town Stubbekøbing and later through the grounds of the manor house Korselitse before getting to the hotel in Nykøbing. Overnight at Hotel Falster or similar. SATURDay 7 - 41 km/26 miles. The next island on the way is Lolland. The main attraction of the day is the lovely old town Nysted and the Aalholm castle. A quiet day of bicycling in flat terrain. Your hotel for two nights is located in Maribo on the middle of the island. Overnight at Park Inn Maribo Sopark or similar for 2 nights. SUNDay 8 - 0/25 km 0/16 miles. We have planned an optional day excursion visiting two more islands, the idyllic Askø and the very small Lillø. MONDay 9 - 48 km/30 miles. By train to Nakskov from where the route continues to the ferry port at Tårs. After relaxing on board it is time to explore one of the nicest islands on the tour, Langeland. The countryside is ideal for bicycling. Do take a stroll down the cobbled streets of the main town Rudkøbing before crossing the bridge and next island Siø to go the quaint island Taasinge. The picturesque town Troense and its castle Valdemar Slot are a must. Return to the hotel in Svendborg. Hotel Svendborg or similar. TUESDay 10 - Departure on own after breakfast.		Tour starts from: Svendborg on the island Funen. There are frequent trains from Copenhagen to Svendborg, see www.dsb.dk for schedules & rates.(2008 rate estimate DKK300/$60 p.p. o/w or less) Length of tour: 359 km/225 miles. Nights: 9 Board: Breakfast daily. Bicycles: All terrain bikes (ATB) with 8 gears and a basket. Essential tools and repair outfit. Included in tour price: 9 overnight stays. Bicycle and very detailed route description with maps. Luggage transport. Ferry tickets: Bogø - Stubbekøbing. Bandholm - Askø. Tårs - Spodsbjerg. Entrance to the safari- and flower park Knuthenborg. NOTE!! Train tickets as per itinerary are NOT included in the tour price and must be purchased locally, estimate p.p. DKK300/$60.
