2012 Dates & Rates
Day 1: Sunday, Arrival in Ivalo, Finland - Saariselkä
Arrival in Ivalo, in Finnish Lapland. Meet & greet before your private transfer to Saariselkä, a small village surrounded by untouched wilderness. Check-in to your hotel, and the rest of your day is at leisure. Please consult the Borealis Destination Management welcome letter at your hotel for information about the upcoming tour program & activities
Overnight: Saariselkä Tunturi Hotel - Gielas ****
Day 2: Monday, Saariselkä - (Day at leisure or optional tours incl. the famous Kirkenes King Crab Safari)
Breakfast at the hotel. The day is at leisure to try one of the many fascination
optional tours (call for program details). Saariselka and it’s surrounding
landscape is ideal for cross country skiing or why not take one of the most popular
tours, a Snowmobile safari to the Fells.
For some a full day optional tour through the fascinating white countryside of
Lapland to Kirkenes in search of the King Crabs is a must. Travel a short distance
out of Kirkenes to Jarfjord, with a quick stop on the Russian border on the way.
Once at Jarfjord you travel either by boat or snow mobile, depending on ice
conditions, in search of the King Crabs. The King Crab Safari was voted as one of
the 25 best new adventure trips by National Geographic. NOTE! this tour MUST be booked with main tour and can not be added locally.
The evening is at leisure.
Overnight: Saariselkä Tunturi Hotel - Gielas ****
Day 3: Tuesday, Saariselkä - Kakslauttanen Igloo Village
Breakfast at the hotel. This morning is at leisure, so why not take part in one of the optional tours available to you in Saariselkä (call for details). In the afternoon you will be transferred to the nearby Igloo Village in Kakslauttanen for check-in to your private Glass Igloos. Enjoy the warmth of your Glass igloo and weather permitting, you can marvel the amazing Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) and the millions of stars from your bed. There is also an opportunity to choose to stay in a Snow Igloo, sleeping in a thermal sleeping bag in approximately – 5 degrees Celsius. Dinner at your hotel
Overnight: Kakslauttanen Glass Igloo
Day 4: Wednesday, Kakslauttanen - Rovaniemi, Santa Claus Village
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart Kakslauttanen on a private coach and travel south towards Rovaniemi with a memorable stop on the way. A few kilometers outside of Rovaniemi, the home of Santa Claus, you will visit the Santa Claus Village where you will have free time to experience this unique attraction including the possibility of having a quick visit with Santa Claus himself. After some free time you board your coach and continue to Rovaniemi for early evening arrival and check-in. Overnight at the Clarion Hotel Santa Claus for the next three magical nights

Day 5: Thursday, Rovaniemi - Day at Leisure
Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy this full day at leisure allowing you time to take one of the many optional Snowmobile safaris (call for details). You have another opportunity to learn the fun of snowmobiling along frozen rivers and through snow-covered forests and also visiting a husky dog farm. You may also like to experience a snowmobile safari by night giving you another chance to see the breathtaking Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis
Overnight: Clarion Hotel Santa Claus ****
Day 6: Friday, Rovaniemi - Kemi Icebreaker Cruise - Rovaniemi
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure in your private coach traveling South to Kemi, where you will experience one of the highlights of your winter adventure. You board the Sampo Icebreaker at Kemi harbour and spend 4 hours on this unforgettable vessel breaking though the ice in the northern Gulf of Bothnia. This incredible experience includes a guided tour of the ship with its massive engine room and bridge, and a warm lunch in the on board restaurant. In the middle of the largest ice field in Europe, you also get the opportunity to jump in the sea and float! You will of course be fitted with a warm survival suit and those who dare will also be presented with a certificate by the ship’s Captain. Return transfer to Rovaniemi with early evening arrival at your hotel
Overnight: Clarion Hotel Santa Claus ****
Day 7: Saturday, Rovaniemi - Departure
Tour concludes after breakfast at the hotel. Your day is at leisure until your transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight.
