Tour Itinerary:
Day 01 Tuesday USA-ICELAND
Board your modern jetliner for overnight flight to Keflavik Airport
in Iceland Meals:In flight-charge
Day 02 Wednesday REYKJAVIK
Upon arrival optional Flybus or Private car/driver transfer to Reykjavik City.
Check in at your hotel. Afternoon free on
own to explore Reykjavik.

Day 03 Thursday REYKJAVIK-GULLFOSS-SOUTH SHORE-VIK
Pick up at your hotel in the morning followed by a short Reykjavik city tour. From Reykjavik head through the village of Hveragerdi to explore Gullfoss, the ‘Golden Waterfall', and the nearby Geyser hot spring area to see the famous Geyser and Strokkur, and numerous other hot springs and boiling mud pool. You drive along the south coast, stop
at the the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss. Continuing eastwards
to Dyrholaey nature reserve, closed during the nesting period (5/15 until 6/23) , a solitary
cliff with interesting formations and teeming bird life. On you go
to Vik. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04 Friday SKAFTAFELL-GLACIAL LAGOON-HÖFN
Today you will cross Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow
on earth in historical time, before you reach the small village Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
The tour continues over Skeidararsandur, vast tracts of black sandy
desert washed down by torrential glacial rivers. You will then stop
in the Skaftafell National Park for a walk. Continue to the Jökulsarlon
Glacial Lagoon where huge icebergs float and grind together in the
still waters. Throughout the day we are afforded magnificent views of the mighty Vatnajökull Glacier.
You will have a optional boat tour between the floating icebergs before
continuing to Höfn for dinner and overnight.

Day 05 Saturday HÖFN-EGILSSTADIR
Touring today over the Almannaskard pass to Lonsöraefi,
a mountainous wilderness ringed by extinct volcano's. Towering mountains,
their bare rock faces ridged by nature, plunge vertically into the
sea to form Austfirdir, Icelands magnificent East Fjords. A
stop will be made at Petras stone collection before going on
to Egilsstadir area for dinner and overnight.

Day 06 Sunday EGILSSTADIR-LAKE MYVATN
After a good breakfast tour continues. Explore the empty vastness of the highland desert plateau Mödrudalsöraefi, heading to the Lake Myvatn area. Visit Namaskard pass with its boiling mud pools and vibrant colors. Explore the natural beauty of the Lake Myvatn area, including the peculiar lava formations at Dimmuborgir, the pseudo craters at Skutustadir and Laxa salmon river. One of Myvatn area’s claims to fame is that it is home to more species of ducks than any other place on Earth, with very diverse bird life in general. Overnight and dinner
in the Myvatn area.

Day 07 Monday LAKE MYVATN-AKUREYRI
After breakfast you will head towards the northern capital Akureyri
with a stop at the waterfall Godafoss. Akureyri boasts some of the finest timber buildings in the country, beautifully restored. Due to its excellent natural harbor and good accessibility, Akureyri has become the northern centre of education, culture, trade and industry. Dinner on own this evening.

Day 08 Tuesday AKUREYRI-SKAGAFJÖDUR-BORGARFJÖDUR-BORGARNES
Majestic mountains and narrow passes lead to Skagafjördur for an introduction of the unique Icelandic horse that has a special fifth gait - the tölt. Towards the village of Blönduos built on both sides of the river Blanda with Hrutey Island a protected nature reserve located in this popular salmon river. Cross the Holtavörduheidi plateau through Borgarfjördur to the beautiful town of Borgarnes. Overnight and dinner in Borgarnes area.

Day 09 Wednesday BORGARNES-PINGVELLIER NATIONAL PARK-REYKJAVIK
A drive to Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in the world, and then a stop to admire the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfall, before continuing over the breathtaking Kaldidalur mountain pass. Head to Lake Pingvallavatn, Iceland's largest lake, and Pingvellir National Park, the ancient site of the world's first parliament held outdoors. Afternoon arrival back in Reykjavik.
Overnight at HILTON NORDICA HOTEL or similar.

Day 10 Thursday REYKJAVIK-USA
Morning free for optional Blue Lagoon Tour or some last minute
