1: Arrival at Keflavik Airport. Transfer on own from Keflavík airport to
accommodation in Reykjavík. Recommend that you take scheduled Flybus to city center/hotel. Day
2: Drive across Hellisheidi to the greenhouse village of
Hveragerdi. Continuation to the waterfall Gullfoss and the
hot springs at Geysir. Pingvellir, site of the ancient Icelandic Day
3: Drive north through Borgarfjördur, to the shores of Hunafloi
bay and the towering mountains and horse-breeding valleys
of Skagafjördur. On to Akureyri. ( ~ 174 miles) Day 4: A morning in Akureyri, the capital of the North. After a stop in the town, onwards to the Lake Myvatn area.( ~ 62 miles) Day
5: Exploring the natural wonders of Lake Myvatn and the surrounding
area, including fantastic lava formations. Visit to the volcanic
area of Krafla along with the colorful sulfurous slopes of
Namaskard pass. Day
8: Drive to the shimmering icebergs and still, milky waters of
Jökulsarlon glacial lagoon before continuing to Skaftafell
National Park. On to the picturesque village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. ( ~ 124 miles) Day
9: Drive along the spectacular southern coast, a sweeping
landscape of sandy desert, rocky shores and rolling farmland
sandwiched between snow-capped glaciers, mountains and
the ocean. Return to Reykjavik. Day 10: Departure on own. Prices
