The Old City is a unique open-air museum that consists of sixty-five old buildings, dating as far back as the 16th century, collected from towns all over Denmark. The museum is now a working city showing life in Denmark in the past centuries. In the afternoon continue north through central Jutland to Nibe or Brovst located by the Limfjord west of Ålborg.

Enjoy a good breakfast. Drive to Ålborg, the third largest city in Denmark, and spend the day exploring local sights. In the afternoon drive back to Sealand and on to Gilleleje, a cozy harbor town on the north coast. In between Sealand and Gilleleje, you may wish to stop in Roskilde: home to the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum, it houses all five of the original Skuldelev Viking ships. The longest—a small snekkja warship at roughly 56 feet—was once manned by a crew of between 30-40 seamen in the 11th century. All were purposefully sunk about 20 km from Roskilde near Skuldelev in order to keep enemy forces from attacking one of the former capitals of Denmark.

NOTE: Car ferries are available from Jutland back to Sealand at an additional cost. Book at www.mols-linien.dk.
