Day 01: Arrive Bergen (On Own)
Arrive at Bergen Airport today and transfer on your own to your first class hotel for check in.
Your first afternoon and evening in Scandinavia is free to explore the city, and to enjoy dinner at any of the fine variety of restaurants in the city center (not included). We recommend a visit to Fløien Folkerestaurant—a popular traditional restaurant on the summit of Mt. Fløien reachable by funicular ride, which features a panoramic view over Bergen—or the contemporary creations of Lysverket, a short walk from Bergen Station and Lungegårdsvannet Lake.

Day 02: Bergen City Walking Tour (On Own)
After you enjoy your first traditional Scandinavian buffet breakfast, you’ll encounter all the numerous sights and sounds of Bergen on a 3-hour city walking tour of the ‘gateway to the fjords’. Your guide picks you up at the hotel, and you set off across the city together.
This amazing city on the west coast of Norway is a cultural and artistic hotspot, and it features some of the best sightseeing and culinary treasures that the country has to offer. Walk through the ancient Bryggen Harbor section, a living relic of the medieval 12th century, and peer inside 18th-century buildings still in daily use. Bryggen was one of four outposts for the Hanseatic League, an important trade organization which operated from the 14th-16th centuries. Continue the tour by admiring the facades of St. Mary’s Church, Haakon’s Hall, the colorful Bergen city fish markets, and more. Lunch is on your own after the tour ends.
Enjoy a free afternoon in the city. Dinner is on your own tonight.

Day 03: Bergen - Myrkdalen (Escorted)
Buffet breakfast is at your hotel today, followed by a free morning and early afternoon in Bergen. Use the free time to further explore the city and shop for souvenirs, or visit more of the historic landmarks within walking distance.
In the mid-afternoon, transfer is on your own to the Bergen train station. From here, board the train and travel to Voss Railway Station. The escorted portion of your tour begins as your guide picks you up at the Voss station and provides transportation to the hotel, one of the most well-known ski resorts in Norway located in the foothills of the Myrkdalen mountain region. In the winter, snow covers even the largest of the apartments and houses in Myrkdalen nearly to the roof, and ski enthusiasts from around Norway and the world enjoy the spectacular setting from the slopes. In the summer, hiking trails lead out from the hotel.
Dinner is provided at the hotel this evening.

Day 04: Myrkdalen - Finnbunuten/Mørkvestølen/Svortetjødn - Myrkdalen (Escorted)
Breakfast is buffet-style this morning at your hotel before you head out on your first hike through one of Norway’s most scenic regions.
We walk the short distance from Myrkdalen Hotel to the Myrkdalesekspressen, a chair lift that will take us to the top of the mountain behind Myrkdalen Hotel. The view from the top is absolutely spectacular, and we’ll hike to the nearby mountain Finnbunuten. If the terrain is too difficult for the group, we’ll hike over the easier terrain near the summer farm Mørkvestølen or the glacial lake Svortetjødn. A packed lunch is provided during your hike.
Dinner is provided at your hotel upon returning from the hike.

Day 06: Myrkdalen - Bakka - Sea Kayaking the Nærøyfjord - Flåm - Balestrand (Escorted)
Buffet breakfast is at your hotel this morning. We set out this morning for the tiny fjord village of Bakka, where we climb aboard sea kayaks, learn how to safely navigate through the fjord waters, and then set out across the wide expanse of the Nærøyfjord. We reach the other side of the fjord, disembark, and then hike through some of the fantastic UNESCO World Heritage region along the Old Postal Road. Enjoy a packed lunch with the group (included). You’ll return with the group to Bakka by sea kayak, where the group departs for Flåm.
We enjoy a spellbinding cruise from Flåm to the historic Kviknes Hotel, perched on the banks of the Sognefjord in Balestrand. We arrive in Balestrand and check in, enjoying one of the region’s most spectacular buffet dinners.
Day 07: Balestrand - Hiking to Raudmelen - Balestrand (Escorted)
Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel this morning before heading out on a breathtaking hike to the top of Raudmelen Mountain. The mountain around which Balestrand was built, Raudmelen boasts spectacular views over the Sognefjord from the viewpoint at the top, and the journey to reach it starts at Kviknes Hotel. There are a number of beautiful sights on the way, with the option to do a shorter hike if the full hike is too demanding. Enjoy a packed lunch during the hike.
Return tonight to your hotel and enjoy another mouthwatering Scandinavian buffet dinner.
Day 08: Balestrand - Hike to Prest - Flåm - RIB Boat Fjordsafari - Undredal - Flåm (Escorted)
We leave Balestrand behind after a buffet breakfast at your hotel and drive toward Flåm, stopping in Aurland and Kvammadal to hike stunning Prest Mountain overlooking the Sognefjord. If the full hike is too demanding, we’ll shorten our hike. The view is unsurpassed, and will take your breath away! Enjoy a packed lunch during the hike, and return to Flåm afterward.
In the afternoon, head to the nearby docks for a thrilling fjordsafari with your group. At the docks you’ll board a small RIB boat, sail into open waters with a local guide, and encounter the sheer magnitude of the Aurlandsfjord and UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord. Stop in Undredal, a little village containing 60 people and nearly 500 goats, known for its famous cheeses (including brunost, a traditional Norwegian brown goat cheese). Sample a selection of Undredal’s delicious products and listen to the process of production, as well as a few local folktales, before boarding the RIB boat back to Flåm.
Your final Scandinavian dinner is served at your hotel tonight.
Day 09: Flåm - Flåm Railway - Depart Bergen (On Own)
