Day 02: Helsinki City Tour - Senate Square - Helsinki Market Square - Marshall Mannerheim Statue - Sibelius Monument - Temppeliaukio Church - Baltic Cruise - Tallinn City Tour - Toompea Castle - Alexander Nevsky Cathedral - Dome Church
Breakfast at your hotel this morning before you meet your local guide for a 2-hour panoramic city tour of the capital of Finland, also known as ‘the daughter of the Baltic Sea’.
Today you’ll visit the 1840s neoclassical architecture of Senate Square, the University, and Lutheran Cathedral, as well as the colorful Market Square, Kaivopuisto Park and diplomatic residences, the imposing statue of Marshall Mannerheim, the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall, the Orthodox Russian Church Uspenski, and the Sibelius Monument. The tour will also make a stop if time permits at Temppeliaukio Church – known as the ‘Rock Church’, as its unusual architecture involves a solid rock foundation. The tour ends at the pier, where you board a Tallink Silja Line Cruise for an approximate 2-hour crossing to Tallinn.
Transfer to your Tallinn hotel for check in, and then take a 2-hour panoramic city tour of Tallinn’s Old Town. Day 04: Stockholm City Tour - Gamla Stan (Old Town) - Stortorget Square
Breakfast is served onboard this morning. After disembarking, we meet a local guide and depart by private coach for a 3-hour panoramic city tour of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The city of Stockholm, built on 14 islands and connected by 57 bridges, embraces the unique character of its 13th-century Old Town alongside modern high-tech architecture. Stockholm's islands are bordered by Lake Mälaren in the west and the Baltic Sea in the east, where the archipelago with its 30,000 islands awaits exploration. The capital is a big city with a small town personality: its handy size and short walking distances makes it easy to cover a lot in a short amount of time.
We’ll walk through Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Old Town, this morning and pass the site of the Nobel Prize festivities, City Hall. Continue through the medieval atmosphere of Old Town as you wander through its narrow streets, and make visits to the seven-hundred-year-old cathedral of Stockholm, seat of the archbishop, as well as Stortorget Square (where the Stockholm Blood Bath took place) and Fjällgatan, where you’ll be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. (No entrances included). The tour ends at your hotel.
