Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort is the perfect location for an exotic holiday experience: far away from the rush and bustle of city life, its beautiful location amidst the untouched Lapland wilderness is 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle—a prime region for viewing the breathtaking Northern Lights as they paint the night sky. Guests here enjoy a wide range of fantastic accommodations, from Lapp-style cottages to snow igloos, glass igloos, and an entirely new concept: the Kelo glass igloo, a combination of log cabin and glass igloo. Multiple saunas, two restaurants with souvenir shopping facilities, Santa’s Celebration House, a reindeer farm, a Snow Chapel, and more round out the amazing Arctic winter atmosphere. This is one winter vacation you’ll never forget!
NOTE: Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort is open through April 30th. However, by early/mid-April the spring thaw sets in, snow conditions deteriorate, and Northern Light events become rare due to shorter nights. Accordingly, we do not recommend traveling to the area after mid-April.

These northern dogs are perfectly suited to the Arctic conditions, and they enjoy pulling the sledge to their hearts’ content. Duration of this excursion is 4 hours including transfer time.
A stop is made to enjoy a picnic lunch in open air. Overnight in log cottage.

After breakfast enjoy an excursion to a local reindeer farm via snow mobile, where you will learn about the culture and lifestyle of the local Sami people. Duration of the excursion: 4 hours, including transfer time. A stop is made to enjoy a picnic lunch/snack in open air. This night will be magical: you’ll spend it in a Glass Igloo!
The Glass Igloo provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to admire the Northern Lights and millions of stars of the crystal clear sky in a comfortable room temperature. Built from a special thermal glass the temperature inside the igloo always stays at a comfortable level. It also prevents the glass from not getting white frosted, hence keeping the view clear even when the temperature outside drops to under -30°C. Every igloo is equipped with a toilet and luxury beds. Shower facilities in a separate building.
