This semi-escorted tour includes a domestic flight from Oslo – Kirkenes, followed by a classic Hurtigruten Cruise for 5 nights from Kirkenes to Bergen. From Bergen, you’ll embark on an escorted tour (English language tour) to Oslo through Norway’s famous fjord region! Rates are quoted on request, as Hurtigruten Cruise rates vary depending on sailing date and ship.
Day 01: Arrive Oslo – Kirkenes
Upon arrival into Oslo Gardermoen Airport (transatlantic flight is not included), connect to a domestic flight for an afternoon departure to Kirkenes. Upon arrival it is a short transfer on your own to your four star hotel. Use the rest of the day to relax or explore Kirkenes – remember, it’s daylight 24 hours a day from mid-May until late July! Dinner is on your own tonight.

Day 02: Kirkenes – Hurtigruten Cruise – Vardø – Båtsfjord – Berlevåg
Buffet breakfast at hotel. Morning is free before you board your Hurtigruten Cruise ship. Transfer on own to cruise pier, located close to your hotel. Once onboard settle in for your 6 day/5 night southbound cruise. Breakfast buffet, lunch buffet and 3-course dinner is included daily, starting with lunch as you leave Kirkenes and ending with lunch as you sail into Bergen.
If you have not pre-booked your shore excursions, now is a good time to secure space as you head south along the scenic Norwegian coast. This 6-day voyage sails from the sparse northern landscapes to the lush southern regions. Your ship will call at 34 ports as she sails to Bergen, and you will enjoy what is known as “The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage”, including the North Cape, Trømso, the Lofoten Islands, Trondheim, and finally Bergen. Accommodation for the Hurtigruten Cruise portion of this trip is in an outside cabin onboard the ship.
Day 03: Hurtigruten Cruise – Honningsvåg – Havøysund – Hammerfest – Trømso
Start the day with a summer breakfast at the North Cape Hall (optional excursion), which is firmly perched on the massive cliff marking the northernmost tip of mainland Europe. From here we make a stop in Hammerfest before our next major port of call, Trømso, where you can take part in a very special musical experience, the Arctic Cathedral Midnight Concert.

Day 04: Hurtigruten Cruise – Trømso – Harstad – Sortland – Svolvær – Stamsund
Passing through the Lofoten Islands the ship negotiates a stunning network of inlets and isles, before moving on to what is the highlight of the voyage for many, a possible detour into the spectacular and dramatic Trollfjord. Join us on a fantastic safari by RIB- boat through the Lofoten archipelago under the Midnight Sun!

Day 05: Hurtigruten Cruise – Bodo – Ornes – Nesna – Sandnessjøen – Brønnøysund – Rorvik
As we sail past the Helgeland coast you can enjoy views of the hundreds of islets, fertile farmland and lush meadows. Today will also be our last one north of the Arctic Circle. The Vega Archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is close to our call in Sandnessjøen.

Day 06: Hurtigruten Cruise – Trondheim – Kristiansund – Molde – Ålesund
We arrive in Trondheim in the early morning. Nidaros Cathedral, in which three Queens and seven Kings have been crowned, is Scandinavia’s largest medieval building and worth a visit. The town of Kristiansund, located on the scenic Atlantic Road, holds the rather obscure title of Norway’s ‘cured cod capital’ owing to the nature of its main export.

Day 07: Hurtigruten Cruise to Bergen
After buffet breakfast enjoy your last hours onboard your Hurtigruten ship as she enters Bergen, also known as the ‘Gateway to the Fjords’. After disembarkation you will have a private transfer to your four star Bergen hotel located in the center of the city, within walking distance of the Bryggen Harbor. Afternoon is free on own to explore the famous inner harbor area or take a tour. Accommodation at a new four star hotel in the center of the city within walking distance of Bryggen Harbor. Your tour escort will be available in the hotel lobby to answer any questions and make restaurant recommendations for your dinner on own tonight.

Day 08: Bergen – Flåm – Balestrand
After a delicious buffet breakfast, departure from Bergen via Dale to the town of Voss. Board the train in Voss for a ride on the beautiful Bergen Railway to the mountain station of Myrdal. From Myrdal ride on the amazing Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of engineering descending 2,838 feet in less than one hour. The descent to Flåm offers opportunities for photos of waterfalls and spectacular scenery.
After a short rest in Flåm you will start a 2 hours cruise along the narrow Aurland and Nærøy Fjords, both branches of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. From the sun deck or the comfortable lounge, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of wildlife. After disembarking in the village of Gudvangen you will be continuing across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes for the short ferry crossing to Balestrand on the banks of the Sognefjord.

Day 09: Balestrand – A Day in the Fjords
Day free in Balestrand, providing you the opportunity to spend a whole day relaxing and enjoying the beauty and nature of the fjords. The day starts with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room.
You may want to spend the morning relaxing on the hotel’s terrace and enjoying the spectacular views. We can also recommend a visit to the local aquarium and art gallery, or you may prefer to rent a bike or row boat from the hotel, or even go hiking to the nearest mountains. A walking tour of the village of Balestrand with its historic buildings can also be arranged. Dinner at your hotel.
Day 10: Balestrand – Geiranger
After breakfast depart from your hotel by ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, followed by a scenic drive along the northern side of the Sognefjord to Sogndal. The tour continues by road to Fjaerland, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei. Descend to the beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best of views. Afterwards a typical Norwegian lunch will be served in sight of the glacier.
During the afternoon the tour continues via Loen and Stryn to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. From here you board the ferry for the one hour’s cruise along the spectacular Geirangerfjord. During the cruise you will pass close by some impressive waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters.
Dinner and accommodation at a stunning four star hotel overlooking the Geirangerfjord. You’ll be met by a representative at the pier and transported to the hotel to enjoy an overnight, dinner, and breakfast.
Day 11: Geiranger – Oslo
Ascend the famous Serpentine Road with amazing views of the fjord below, before crossing the rugged Grotli Mountains to the village of Lom, famous for its 14th-century stave church.
The tour continues alongside Lake Vågå to Otta, then descends the wonderful Gudbrands Valley towards the town of Lillehammer. Lunch in Lillehammer. After lunch the journey continues along the banks of Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, before reaching Oslo in the afternoon, the capital of Norway. Dinner and overnight at a fabulous four star hotel.

Day 12: Oslo Departure
Buffet breakfast at your hotel, followed by transfer to Oslo Gardermoen Airport in connection with your flight home.
