SMALL GROUP TOUR: Experience three of the stunning capitals of Scandinavia – Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo – as well as two of Norway’s renowned fjords and more on this spectacular 20-person max small group exploration!
Day 01: Arrive Bergen
Arrive in Bergen today and transfer to your hotel on your own for check in. The remainder of the day is free to explore Bergen’s lively atmosphere before you meet up with your tour leader at the evening welcome meeting. We recommend taking a journey on the Fløibanen funicular railway to the top of Mt. Fløien for spectacular panoramic views of the city far below (not included).
Overnight accommodations are at a three-star hotel located in the heart of Bergen near ancient Bryggen Harbor.
Day 02: Bergen - Hardangerfjord - Norheimsund
Following your first Scandinavian buffet breakfast, embark on a 2-hour morning sightseeing tour of Bergen. Explore the popular fish market as well as the historical Bryggen Harbor, where the Hanseatic League—prominent from the 14th-16th centuries—held court.
After the tour, leave Bergen behind and enter the magnificent serenity of Norway’s fjord country: we’ll travel to the orchard-filled Hardangerfjord region, and then head to Norheimsund.
Accommodation and dinner tonight are at a 3-star historic hotel with a beautiful view of the Hardangerfjord.
Thon Hotel Sandven
Day 03: Norheimsund - Stalheim - Flåm - Gudvangen - Vangsnes - Balestrand
After breakfast this morning, we’ll drive to Stalheim by way of Voss. Stalheim overlooks a famously panoramic canyon, the Nærøydalen, often called Stalheim Canyon. We continue to the idyllic village of Flåm, a scenic fjordside town popular with tourists for its location at the end of the Aurlandsfjord and close proximity to the Nærøyfjord. Board a ferry in Flåm and embark on a cruise along the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen, located at the far end of the Nærøyfjord.
Continue by coach to Vangsnes, crossing the Sognefjord, and arrive in Balestrand. Accommodations and dinner tonight are at a famous 4-star hotel on the banks of the fjord.
Day 04: Balestrand - Nigardsbreen Glacier - Balestrand
Buffet breakfast this morning is followed by a ferry across the Fjærlandsfjord, where we’ll reach the Jostedal glacier region and the Breheimsenteret Glacier Center. We’ll enjoy entrance into the museum as well as lunch. The center has a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the Nigardsbreen Glacier tongue on clear days, and from here we’ll make our way by coach to the lake at the base of the glacier.
Sail across the lake with your group and walk across the winding path leading to the glacier, small and massive stones alike worn smooth beneath your feet by the slow crawl of the Nigardsbreen Glacier over thousands of years.
Return to your hotel in Balestrand with the group for overnight accommodations and dinner.
Day 05: Balestrand - Flåm - Flåm Railway - Myrdal - Oslo
Enjoy buffet breakfast this morning at the hotel before checking out with your group and heading to the pier. Today we’ll re-cross the Sognefjord on our way back to Flåm via express boat, where a spectacular journey aboard the Flåm Railway—one of the most famous and beautiful in the entire world—awaits you. We’ll arrive at the mountain station of Myrdal and change over to the Bergen Line train bound for Oslo.
Arrive in Oslo in the late evening and transfer to your hotel for check in.
Scandic St. Olavs Plass Hotel
Day 06: Oslo
Following breakfast today at the hotel, the group will get the chance to experience a 3-hour Oslo city tour. Discover the famous cultural exhibit of Vigeland Park, the Holmenkollen ski jump, and a walk to the Oslo Opera House (does not include entrances).
The afternoon and evening in Norway is at leisure to explore the Viking capital on your own. There are numerous optional activities to engage in during your spare time, such as a local ferry to the Bygdøy Peninsula or the many popular museums that reside in Oslo.

Take the opportunity to walk through the narrow medieval streets of Old Town, perusing its colorful sights and historical secrets.
Overnight in Stockholm.
Day 08: Stockholm

The afternoon is at leisure to further explore on your own some of the city’s best-kept secrets and dining spots. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 09: Stockholm - Copenhagen
After breakfast this morning, we depart for enchanting Copenhagen by either train or bus. We’ll make our way through the Swedish countryside to Malmö, situated directly across from Copenhagen, and cross one of the longest bridges in the world between the two: Øresund. The long journey ends in Copenhagen, where you’ll have the remainder of the afternoon and evening to yourself for exploration of the Danish capital.
Overnight in Copenhagen.
